Mozart Clarinet Trio in E Flat

The acoustics of The Maltings are among the best in the world. The recording engineer and producer was Tony Faulkner, who used the latest technology. Most importantly, a simple pair of microphones was used, with no additional mixing or other balance tricks. The recording utilised long takes, to capture the atmosphere of live performance. The Mozart trio took about three hours of recording time, and the Brahms about four-and-a-quarter hours.
