kW750 Power Amplifier
The kW 750 is not like any amplifier from any other
manufacturer. It is so powerful that it virtually never clips or limits.
The basic sound is similar to single ended triodes. Because it never
limits or overloads it always remains sweet sounding and relaxed. The kW
750 has massive unlimited dynamic range.
At first listen the kW 750 doesn't sound that remarkable your ear/brain
interface automatically and instantly adapts to the huge unclipped
headroom available; it's when you go back to an ordinary amplifier that
the differences become so glaringly and painfully apparent. Ordinary
amplifiers (and by that we mean below 200 wpc) are limiting and clipping
regularly. When an amplifier limits in this manner distortion rises
dramatically quite often giving rise to "an exciting" sound. What people
are actually hearing is a great increase in distortion which adds
harmonics to the signal. With the kW 750 this doesn't happen. It remains
clean and stress-free under all conceivable circumstances.
If you want to hear the full dynamic range from a recording you need to
have sufficient power to deliver that to the loudspeaker terminals. Apart
from our kW 500 the kW 750 is about the only amplifier in the world
capable of doing this. And it does it cleanly with a beautiful delicate
exquisite sound. Our MD grabbed the first prototype and hasn't been back
with it, it's that good.
