On this page you will find the latest software for Musical Fidelity products where update were available. Please make sure you have read and understood the written instructions carefully before you attempt to install the software.


MX-Stream

Factory Reset

  • Get a USB Thumb Drive
  • Format it as “FAT32” using the MBR partition table. Please note that MacOS often uses a different partition table by default! Please make sure to select the MBR partition table when formatting.
  • Download this file http://repo.volumio.org/utils/factory_reset
  • Please copy the link into the address bar of Google Chrome or Firefox if the download doesn‘t start automatically
  • Copy it on the Thumb Drive (make sure the name of the file is exactly „factory_reset“)
  • Turn off the MX-Stream and unplug the ethernet cable (if connected)
  • Plug the thumb drive to one of the USB ports
  • Turn on the MX-Stream
  • IMPORTANT: During this phase the unit might restart multiple times and this factory reset will take about 5 minutes.
  • The factory reset will be completed when the Net-LED starts blinking again

    USB Driver for Windows (192KHz Driver)

    Applicable Products: V-LINK192, M1 SDAC and M6 DAC

    Applicable Operating Systems: Windows XP / Vista / 7 and 8

    Note:- from time to time we will update driver versions to add compatibility with third party software. Where you see the term "(version)" in the following instructions this refers to the current version number of the software file. This is typically a number with decimal points, for example "1.6.1".

    To install the Windows driver for your USB equipped Musical Fidelity product:

    • 1. Right click and save this Windows USB Driver File to your computer
    • 2. Open "Windows Explorer" or "My Computer" and locate the Zip file that you just downloaded
    • 3. Double-click on the Zip file to open it
    • 4. Double-click the MF-USB-192-(version)win32-64.EXE file within the Zip file
    • 5. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    • 6. Please ignore the "Software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing..." warning and select "Continue Anyway"
    • 7. Setup will continue, please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation

    Once the driver is installed it is advisable to re-boot your PC
